MEPCO at the AHR Expo 2009 held in Chicago during January

Chicago AHR 2009 Recap

Ignoring all the media doom and gloom, the 2009 AHR Expo achieved new records.  There were over 1,900 registered exhibitors using 395,000 square feet of floor space.  Attendance topped 54,000 and included over 35,000 visitors and 19,000 exhibitor personnel.  Internationally, 34 countries were represented with over 5,400 visitors coming from abroad.

MEPCO was well represented and the booth saw strong traffic.  The majority of our rep groups stopped by to say hello and get caught up on the latest company news and gossip.  We really appreciate all your feedback and suggestions!

I would like to thank our owner, Jim Robins, for working the booth with me all three days.  I know many of you enjoyed speaking with Mr. Robins and sharing old war stories about MEPCO.

Exhibitors and attendees alike shared their concerns for the coming year, especially about:

  • the current economic slowdown

  • possible climate change and the "going green" movement

  • new product innovation and technology, particularly coming from offshore and not the US

  • the impact of new types of energy

  • costs!!

  • new construction, both commercial and residential, and

  • the impact of a government stimulus package.

We look forward to continuing to partner with you and addressing these challenges in the coming year.

Thanks to all of you for a good 2008 and for stopping by the booth. I hope all of us can continue to prosper in 2009.

Regards,

Ed Gilde, General Manager
